Gutters and Downspouts

Quality Gutter Systems

A good gutter system sheds water away from your home. It aids in protecting your landscape, keeping water from turning into ice over sidewalks and driveways, and in keeping your basement dry. A poor gutter system can have far worse consequences than no gutters at all. A clogged gutter can cause water to back up and enter the home through the roof system. When this happens, water can travel along the tops of walls until it finds a place to drain. Usually this is noticeable by water or stains in the corners where walls and ceilings meet. Over time, this water can rob your insulation of its R-value and allow mold and rot to form. A poor gutter system will drain near the foundation, allowing water to seep through basements walls. It keeps crawl spaces damp and promotes insect infestation.

How do you know if you have a poor gutter system? Just answer yes to any of these questions.

  1. Do your gutters drip in corners or at the ends hours after it rains?
  2. Are the bottoms of the downspouts draining straight down or along the foundation wall?
  3. Are your gutters sagging or loose?
  4. Can you see growth in your gutters or downspouts?Contact us for a free evaluation.

Seamless Aluminum Gutters

There are different types and styles of gutters on the market today. The most common are made from aluminum, vinyl, copper and steel and are typically 5” for residential and 6” for commercial. Regardless of the type you choose, a gutter system should:
  • Be strong enough to handle the weight of winter ice and snow.
  • Have enough slope to carry water to downspouts and eliminate standing water.
  • Have an adequate number of downspouts to drain gutter.
  • Have a proper device in place to carry water away from foundation.
  • Include a maintenance plan or cover to keep gutters free from twigs, leafs and other debris.
We roll out and install seamless aluminum gutters on site. We offer a wide variety of colors to match or enhance your existing siding or trim. All gutters are securely fastened with hidden hangers and screws.

Leaf protection

Not every home needs leaf protection and some homes may only need it on one section of the house. That’s just one reason why we choose to use Leaf Relief by Alcoa. You don’t have to purchase a complete gutter cover system that can run in the upper thousands. Each section is 10’ in length, installed on top of the gutter and virtually unseen from the ground. Install it only on the gutter section needed. More importantly, Leaf Relief stops leafs and debris without restricting water flow and is backed by one of the strongest warranties available from a leader in the industry.
